Ken Jackowitz: “I had the pleasure of meeting Pathr.ai’s CEO George Shaw when I was a Visiting Scientist/Executive in Residence at the MIT Media Lab from 2008 to 2011, where George was a student there. During that time, we were able to take the research from The Human Speechome Project and pivot it to create the ability to understand customer behavior in a branch banking environment to better drive service to sales conversion. That had me hooked. There is a gap in the market for what I call ‘the last mile’ of customer behavior. What customers (and employees) are doing in a store, factory, office, smart city, etc. can best be understood by why and how they behave. Technology like Pathr.ai, is the key to unlocking these insights.”

Rony Kubat, Co-Founder and CTO of Tulip Interfaces

Rony Kubat is the Co-Founder and CTO of Tulip Interfaces. He is a PhD graduate from MIT with a research focus on applied machine learning. He was the first employee at Bluefin (acquired by Twitter). Bharat Mediratta: “Spatial intelligence represents an incredible untapped resource. The more we can translate real world occurrences into a digital environment, the more we can apply machine learning and artificial intelligence to dramatically improve the way that we interact with the world. He holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Business, where he was a McGovern Scholar and a Legatum Scholar and BSE in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University.

Birju Shah: “George & Pathr.ai sold me immediately on the ability for a platform with a privacy first mindset to anonymously gain inferences real-time on foot traffic. Besides the fact that the insights will allow for better experiences operationally for brick and mortar retailers, the possibilities were endless to unlock even more value, tracking social distance for the population during COVID, efficiently improving hospital operations by tracking how employees are trafficking around a hospital system during a day and even efficiently creating different worker path plans at an airport to get airplanes out the gate faster. The ability to gain insight from the platform they built is endless, and extremely powerful for any operation.”

Michelle Shevin, Senior Program Manager at the Ford Foundation

Michelle Shevin is a public interest technologist who researches dynamics at the intersection of technology and social change. She works at the Ford Foundation and teaches future thinking methodologies at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program.

Michelle Shevin: “Even as we gain the ability to understand more about spaces through data, it is paramount to avoid implementing extensive surveillance architecture. Technology is never neutral — it amplifies power and affects sociotechnical dynamics. Pathr.ai combines market leading analytics with the strategic and ethical decision to avoid face recognition and additional surveillance layers, analyzing existing data streams. This centering of public interest values like equity and privacy will be a key competitive advantage into the future.”

Paco is the author of popular books including Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping out in 28 languages and used in MBA programs, design schools and retailing training programs across the world. His newest book How We Eat: The Brave New World of Food and Drink will be published by Simon & Schuster in January of 2022.

As a speaker and presenter, he has worked in 50 countries talking to merchants, marketers, bankers, technologists, hospital groups, government agencies, cultural institutions, non-profits, trade institutions, and most importantly students. As the son of an American diplomat who grew up around the world, he has a global perspective on consumer trends.

Paco Underhill: “I believe in intelligent observing and for most of my working life have built tools to that end. Pathr.ai is on its way to a better mix of Art and Science — which for AI is the mother lode. We live in an analog world — and digital tools need to reflect that. My role in Pathr.ai is to keep the company focused, not on simply collecting data, but winning victories for their clients.”
